About the LF Kustroute
Cycling along the Dutch Coast means cycling with the wind blowing through your hair. Sometimes the wind is with us, sometimes the wind is against us, but you always 'taste' the wonderful coastal feeling. The 610 km long LF Coast Route is characterised by long stretches of dunes along the Dutch coast and the islands of South Holland and Zeeland. Small seaside resorts and historic towns make for nice stops along the route. Along the Wadden coast, the route runs through one of the quietest and least densely populated parts of the Netherlands with various authentic (mound) villages and towns.

Inspiration during your bike ride
I rode part of the EV12 North Sea Route, from London to Bad Nieuweschans at the end of July. I loved the experience of riding in Belgium and the Netherlands. The route was very well signed and the mostly dedicated, vehicle free riding was a pleasant change to what we have in England. I enjoyed camping each night, especially the Natuurcamping. My favourite sites were Zeeweg 71 and Het Bos Roept. It was wonderful to see the changing scenery going North, from Zeeland dominated by bridges, ferries and flood defences, through the dunes of North Holland and the farm land of Groningen.
